A yellow leaf from a Dogwood tree floats on Island Creek in the Croatan National Forest. The sky, clouds and forest are reflected on the water creating an abstract background to the leaf. I was quite taken by the simplicity and beauty of this scene while exploring the woodlands for a suitable photographic subject. It can be quite challenging to find subjects in the forest during the winter months. One needs to train their eye to see beyond the chaos of the woods. This small brook can be explored while hiking the Island Creek Forest Walk trail. The trailhead is found along Island Creek Road between New Bern and Pollocksville, North Carolina.の素材 [FY310183552000]
